A derogatory but humorous insult I made up to describe someone who doesn’t get up early or (more typically how I use it) someone who sleeps in. I use the word disparagingly and to motivate my family and friends to get out of bed. If used on a stranger, they may be confused or offended, or they may even chuckle.
Dominick: *Still asleep at 10 a.m.* Me: *Wakes Dominick up* Hey, get up you lazy bones resthead or you’ll be late for your morning class!
A vulgar insult used to express contempt, disapproval, or irritation towards someone perceived as foolish, lacking intelligence, or demonstrating poor judgment. It’s used in a derogatory manner to belittle or demean someone’s intelligence or behavior. “Fuckwit” is an abusive word that is considered offensive and inappropriate to use, especially in formal and familiar contexts.
Person 1: I thought I was being haunted. A book on the shelf behind me fell to the ground. Person 2: You’re an absolute fuckwit! There are no such things as ghosts, it’s called physics. And you know better than to scream in a library. Person 1: Language! I acknowledge my mistake and am willing to change the subject and move on if you are too.
lacking refinement, good judgment, intelligence, and sensitivity; very stupid and lacking sympathy or understanding in any sense
A crass remark had been made about my grandmother not having good comprehension and being slow to process information she receives because of her old age.
adj. Prohibited and violating social custom or sacredness, and thus not to be spoken of or disturbed. If someone mentions, defiles, or profanes something taboo, they likely will be frowned upon, shamed, or cursed. n. A subject or entity which is taboo.
Taboo subjects such as racism and murder are widely considered inappropriate and evoke strong emotional responses. The taboo of anti-Semitism has been ingrained in my mind, so I am annoyed by it being used as a plot device in so many movies.
excited and very interested to find out something or with a high amount of anticipation
I was agog to see the new Batman movie in theaters.
An informal, and rather incorrect, way to say something figuratively happened or is, adding emphasis or strong feeling to get your point across.
Person 1: You’re not telling me the truth. What’s the full story? Person 2: I literally told you everything that happened and gave full detail on my best friend’s whereabouts last night.
