Satan

According to Christianity, Satan was originally an angel who rebelled against God (power to the people!) and also influenced Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of knowledge- which implies that had they of not eaten it, then we might not have possessed the knowledge to question authority. Ultimately, Satan was thrown into the lake of fire with his other followers- which also implies that Satan is a victim too in all of this, and considering he braved god's wrath to question the lord's divine authority- it says a lot about how Satan should be perceived, and that Satan might have had decent intentions after all. Of course, this is all subject to whether you have religious ideals- in which case, you might want to consider which being you're supporting :P

Satan's ultimate goal is to lead people away from the love of God, and to lead them into fallacies which God opposes- or if you look at it another way, fallacies which mean God no longer has control over you- some of these fallacies are listed below: Premarital sex: A normal desire for human beings, and it should not be perceived as a sinful. Everyone has the right to love their body and the body of others, providing they realise what sex entails and that they are aware of any implications that follow the activities they are parcitipating in. Drugs: As we know, some drugs are very dangerous for the body and mind- but naturally occuring drugs such as weed and hallucinogens can lead to experiencing alternative perceptions of reality, and providing necessary precautions are taken, this can lead to positive realisations about yourself and the world you live in. And may also result in a more independent mindset- which would be bad for God, understandably... Rock Music: Opposed by hardcore Christians, Rock music is actually celebratory of everything that makes us human- and is known for championing complex ideas (seen in art rock, etcetera) and anti- authority ideals. Again, bad for God... In all, there are lots of things perceived as sinful by Christianity- most of these are merely aspects which contribute to our independence and rights as a human being.

Atheist

Any person clever enough to take a stand against inconsistent religious theories and practices and instead live their life independently from alleged divine authority figures and lifestyles which enforce unjustified regulations upon their existence. Atheists generally believe that there is no god- although reasons for this choice of opinion differ, many revolve around logical thinking and lack of scientific proof, which concludes that no such being exists. Just because someone is an atheist does not mean that they do not want to believe in god... it just means that there is no realistic evidence to support any claims of god's existence- and therefore no reason to believe in god itself.

An atheist is a person of logic and sense, independent of religion and it's customs.

love rush

Most likely happens in places of social interaction: a term to describe that moment when you and another person of interest have aquired such affection for each other in the shortest amount of time thought possible, that you simply engage in any adrenaline fueled sexual contact regardless of the reactions and responses of those around you...

"I went to a club last night and had a major love rush- this girl who was practically my female equal had one too, and just couldn't keep her hands of me. Soon enough we were copulating in the club toilets :P" Joking lol... that was an example :P

Modern Music

From what it means and symbolises in our culture today, 'modern' music is nothing more than commercialised crap worshipped by those that cant comprehend the effort put into REAL music. Modern music is often the work of fat greedy managers churning out the sassy stylised crap in the hopes of increasing their bank balance. On the other hand, you could see it as a global conspiracy wherein the government is acting through the music industry to prevent bands who could deliver important social messages and revolutionary ideas from ever being successful and putting the control of the masses via the government in jeopardy. Your choice. Modern music described in the form above usually appeared after late 2006, and the only bands that dont fall into this category include bands who either started off before the 21st century and have remained successful to this day, or a few notable exceptions such as MGMT, Beach House, and a few other decent bands I have yet to discover. Unfortunately, the current music scene will continue to churn out this garbage and drown out decent bands who could bring forth a new musical revolution etcetera... so unfortunately for now, its here to stay :'(

Dont you just wish music today was made by bombed out rock stars high on drugs with tons of groupies instead of shitty corporate whores and managers who are only in it for the financial gain... pity the underdog, for modern music represents the latter :/

staying sober- so you dont have to!

Nice term to describe anyone designated or willing to stay sober at events involving alcoholic consumption. Basically, a nice way of saying, "don't worry my friend, I'm staying sober- so you don't have to! Which means I'll be there at the end of the evening to question that 'date' you picked up, drive you home, and provide adequate support for you're drunken heap of a body... well go on then, get drinking!"

Joseph: Hey, you having a drink? Joe: Nope, I'm staying sober- so you dont have to! Joseph: okay- You just volunteered to pay... bitch!

Jimi Hendrix

The most iconic, profound, inventive, masterful and downright best guitar player in the history of music. No one came close to playing guitar like he did. It was never about how fast or how well he played (even though he played exceedingly well). It was about the special connection he made through his guitar and his listeners/audience. In effect, the guitar was to Jimi what Excalibur would have been to King Arthur - A profound expression of the power within one individual. Hendrix did many things that made his music so meaningful. Amongst these he helped to popularize guitar feedback... a technique which was previously undesirable at the time, not to mention playing it with his teeth, executing mind- bending solo's, and even evoking a personality within the instrument itself: for example during his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, where his guitar echoed the harsh nature of the Vietnam War through sound alone. He created a style of music which even to this day has remained unparalleled, and gave us one of the most awe- inspiring forms of music ever. Some of his most famous songs include Purple Haze, Voodoo Child, and his rendition of All Along the Watchtower. There will never be anyone like him again... and even if you did reach his playing standard, you still wouldn't obtain the expressionism, mind or soul he channelled into every performance. Long live Hendrix... we really could do with another time like yours in this day and age :/

Go watch Jimi Hendrix's version of the Star Spangled Banner on Youtube... and if those last few notes don't send shivers down your spine, then you might as well have no soul...

summer of love

Most usually refers to: 1. The summer of love in San Francisco in 1967, when over 100 000 people converged on the Haight- Ashbury neighbourhood to create a phenomenon of cultural and political revolution. During this time it became the epicenter of the hippie revolution... consisting of free love, psychoactive drugs, sexual freedom, music and free expression. Often considered a social experiment because of the newly emerging lifestyle trends. The term 'psychedelic' is best used to describe the associated atmosphere. 2. The summers of love in the United Kingdom during 1988-89, which saw the exlosion of the acid house movement and the subsequent rave culture. The free warehouse parties, smiley symbol, and the club drug Ecstasy symbolized this summer of love, which is often described as being more hedonistic and indulgent than it's psychedelic counterpart. Although, this summer was partially ruined by the paranoia of the press, who slammed the movement for its use of the word acid: which did not actually refer to the drug LSD, but rather the style of borrowing lyrics, an act referred to as 'acid burning'. However, the press caught the wrong side of this and described the movement as a satanic cult which encouraged the use of drugs- and because of this the once abundant raves faded into the limelight. The term 'second summer of love' has been used to refer to this time. 3. Although it never caught any significant recognition apart from a newspaper article, the alleged 'third summer of love' apparently took place in 2004 - due to the legal loophole which made unprepared magic mushrooms legal to the public. Coverage on the 'third summer of love' was made at Glastonbury, where the festival was fuelled by amongst other things, magic mushrooms. However, the actuality of this summer of love is under much debate, and is probably a pun on the media's behalf. 4. A romance or relationship which can lasts over any specific summer. Sometimes referred to as a 'summer of love' by the couple in question.

'Some people say the next summer of love will take place in 2009 because of the 21 year gap between the two original summers of love, but I remain doubtful there will ever be a summer of love anytime soon :/' 'We met last summer and have been together ever since. It was our summer of love...'
