dixiecrats

A 1960s reference to southern democrats. They are still democrats because there was no other party that wanted to take them.

dixiecon

A term to describe the members of dixiecrats that "mythically switched" to the Republican party.

We know that if every dixiecrat became a dixiecon then repulicans would have had several places on the ballot in the south during 1960s and 1970s. We know that was not true.
