Anchises

A proper name. Anchises was the father of Aeneas through Venus and is a major character in the epic poem by Virgil, the Aeneid.

Aged Anchises was led from the smoking ruins of Troy by his son, Aeneas.

Terrace

Terrace is a small city nestled in the coast mountain range of British Columbia. It has a population of approximately 15 000 people. The main industries in Terrace are logging, fishing, and tourism. Terrace is home to the Kermode bear, a rare subspecies of the black bear that is born with white fur. It is also known as the Spirit Bear.

Terrace is a beautiful city, and a great place to raise children. The decline in logging revenue has made real estate in Terrace very affordable. There are not many jobs in Terrace; the unemployment rate is almost twice the provincial average.

University of No Better Choice

A slang term for UNBC, the University of Northern British Columbia. It is so called because its lower admission requirements, combined with its lower tuition fees and the lower cost of living where the university is located, in Prince George, often make it a choice of necessity rather than true choice. However the university is ranked quite high in Canadian standings for achievement and quality of education.

I fucked up my GPA by failing a sculpture class, now I have to finish my English degree at the University of No Better Choice!

yamtacular

An adjective used to describe something that is spectacular, awesome, cool, or otherwise great to the highest degree. A portmanteau word formed from the words spectacular and yam, the word yamtacular borrows from the greatness of that orange root that tastes so yummy.

Thank you for that yamtacular dinner; it was so good I want to vomit so I can eat some more.

the echo chamber

Public Relations slang for the tactic of repeating some fake factoid so loudly and so often that many people start to believe it. It is even more effective if public figures and celebrities are used in the echo chamber. This technique was used for years to debunk those who noted the first signs of climate change.

Prince George

Prince George British Columbia is also known as the gateway to the north. Three highways meet in Prince George. Highway 16, also known as the highway of tears runs east and west through the city. The cariboo highway terminates here, and the highway north to Dawson Creek and Fort St. John begins. PG is where the University of Northern British Columbia, UNBC is located. Prince George is the biggest city in the northern half of British Columbia. Prince George is at the heart of the Pine Beetle Epidemic, hence it is surrounded by miles of red coloured dead pines.

Prince George is a sprawling interior town in the middle of a dead forest.
