A fork of Rural Dictionary
Sidney, IL is a small town in central Illinois mostly comprised of corn, soybean, and Dairy Barn ice cream. There are no secrets in town, and you find your weekly bit of chicken owning, septic selling, and solar panel farming drama on Facebook page “The Sidney Scoop !” (note, there is a space between Scoop, and the punctuation !). Sidney has a fair amount of residents that will lend you the shirt off their backs in your time of need, and are naturally humble about this. There will be no bragging about being the center of the universe, or center of anything else, despite the fact that youth sports teams per capita can outplay most any around. What Sidney lacks in stop lights, it makes up for with small town hospitality.
I drove through Sidney, IL and almost blinked and missed it.
