a political process in which an independent country is subjected to annexation of a powerful country and gains independence again. The term comes from the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) that were independent from 1920 till 1940, when they were annexed to the Soviet Union, only to secede as independent countries in 1991.
Balticization differs from Balkanization.

Baltic Tea is a drink, a cocktail, mentioned in Victor Pelevin's book "Chapayev and Void". The cocktail is made of a glass of vodka and two teaspoons of cocaine.
Supposedly it was consumed by soviet navy soldiers resided in the ship Aurora, which was cruising the Baltic Sea. Therefore the cocktail is named Baltic Tea.
