A fork of Rural Dictionary
A poor excuse for a movie that usually ends of with people crying, not because of the plot, but because of how they wasted $6.50 on a movie ticket. Also it seems that the only type of people that watch them are either chicks and guys who go out with the chicks.
Chick flicks are a waste of money.
A genre of movies that has been formed all on it's own combining the genres of Romance, Drama, and Comedy. These movies are filled with cliche after cliche, yet so irresistable for the female population to go out and see the next version. Each contains the same plot with the Character names changed. Producers see sales of these movies soar when the members of the female population are eithe PMSing or just plain MSing. Must have Kleenex box in hand.
Mandy: "I started my period this week.."
Carrie: "That's it, time to rent 'A Walk To Remember'"
A movie that embodies all that is wrong with the world; a movie which displays a gross over-indulgence into, and exploration of, the workings of the female psyche and the accomanying emotional tendencies.
Sixteen Candles (Herb's favorite!)
Term for a movie geared for women. Quite often seen on cable TV like The Hallmark Channel and endorsed by people like Oprah. These movies make women the heros and show life from a woman's perspective. Most men hate these films cuz they are cheezy and dumb. Pussy-whipped men like them...or pretend to.
Wife: Honey, lets watch: She Finally Kills The Bad Guy!
Husband's mind: ( Not another chick flick! )
Husband's reply: ...yes dear.
Used to screw guys over. When watched, a chickfilck causes a girl to expect to much from a guy.
The guys in chick-flicks always do something that is nearly impossible for a regular guy to do. When a girl watches a chick-flick, she expects her boyfriend to do the same as the guy in the movie.
To be defined as a chick flick, the movie must have the three following attributes:
1. A romance that has unrealistic outcomes which are designed to appeal to a female audience in a way which corresponds to the current trends of fictional romance in society.
2. The main focus/plot of the movie must be a romance which contains the attributes stated above.
3. The movie must have content not suitable for children.
Sex and the City, Before Sunset/Sunrise, Legally Blond are NOT examples of chick flicks because they contains enough truth to the romances they portray.
1) To be plucked against one's ear or neck by a fetching young lass.
2) To pluck at a ripe young lady with your fingers, a single time.
3) The minimal movement possible to knock a newly hatched chicken off a milk carton, or any other elevated station.
4) To film any or all of these things, possibly hiring Rene Zellwegger to star in it in some capacity in order to provide a hint of sweet and sour (hence the lemon sucking face and baby voice).
5) It could involve this finger movement on the clitoris, if you thank that might work for you.
We had it in our budget to only hire one star for this film, and we could only get Anne Hathaway. Zellwegger was not interested in another "Chick Flick unless we CGI'd the chicken stunts. We were unwilling to compromise our standards.
