Convincing people something is happening… when it isn't. “The sky is falling” syndrome.
Example: “Dude... you totally chicken-littled that prof when you busted that fire alarm... I mean shit Bra.... did you ever see anybody run so fast?”
A person or persons who possess an intense sense of urgency over a matter of little or no consequence, usually because of ignorance or lack of education. This coincides with the tale of Chicken Little who claimed the sky was falling after being hit on the head by an acorn. Also known as Kermit-the-Frogging.

Every time someone believes the hype behind an apocalyptic theory that will end the world, and the hysteria that ensues. It is an old cumulative tale about a chicken (or a hare in an early version) who believes the world is coming to an end. The phrase "The sky is falling" has passed into the English language as a common idiom indicating a hysterical or mistaken belief that disaster is imminent.
Suffering from Chicken Little Syndrome, Johnny believes that either the Mayans were just lazy, or the world is coming to an end in 2012.
