A fork of Rural Dictionary
The realization that democracy is a redundant, artificial system which forcibly replaced monarchies despite the latter being the natural order of society. It is a reference to the Red Pill from the 1999 film The Matrix, but has been rebranded as purple, with purple being the traditional color of royalty. People that have taken the Purple Pill consider monarchs as the ultimate embodiment and protector of traditional values, religious morality, and national pride. They consider the current times as a Dark Age and eagerly await an opportunity to restore their preferred royal house to the throne and relive past glories.
You're a monarchist too?! When did you take the Purple Pill? L'état, c'est moi am I right?
Purple pill is when you kind of have blue pill goals, for example, you want to have children, you want to have a long-term relationship, but you stay red-pilled inside of that.
Most people get into the purple-pill part of their lives when they've gone through enough experiences in both spheres and have a broader perspective regarding life in general.
Jack: Hey man, you're on self-improvement?
Matt: No.
Jack: What about you Adonis?
Adonis: Yes.
Jack: So you're red-pilled like me?
Adonis: No, even though I assert Dominance and Leadership, I still aspire to be a great father and have a lovely wife. Purple Pill is the way.
Jack: OK, but I won't try to comprehend what you actually mean right now, until I have gone through enough stupid BS and unfulfilling experiences, then perhaps after 15 years I'll get what you mean after all.
