A car brand meant for the lower/middle working class. Trying to unrealisticly compete with BMW, AUDI and MERCEDES-BENZ. When newly bought its often a good buy, but after a few years the misery starts. Known for corrosion + high wear and tear of mechanical parts like steering, suspension and brakes. Parts are, despite the economic range there in, reasonably high priced. Average maintenance costs €2000 a year. OPEL has had and is having a difficult time in the car industry because of a huge image problem. BMW, AUDI and MERCEDES-BENZ are currently also producing in the lower/middle working class range and there for a unmatched competitor for OPEL.
