tap-off

the impatient motion of two or more opponents' feet just before they engage in a physical altercation. Typically seen in street fights.

Person 1: "Those two look like they're about to fight" Person 2: "Oh shit I see them" *people fighting do the little foot dance for a half second before fighting" Person 1: "Why do they do that before fighting?" Person 2: "I don't know, but I think it should be called a tap-off"
