A non-gender-specific version of the pronouns "he" and "she". Useful when you do not know the gender of the individual being referred to. Useful if you do not want to disclose the gender of the individual being referred to. Useful if you do not want to offend the individual being referred to. (some people do not like to be called "he" or "she") Can be used to replace "he/she" on documents.
