Dingus

The word "dingus" came about through the popular movie, "The Maltese Falcon" where the star, Humphrey Bogart, refers to the Maltese falcon as "The Dingus". So, the definition of the word "dingus" is a way of referring to any noun (including people) in an offhand manner.

--Who did you go to the movies with? Eh, some dingus.

--Could you please pass the dingus?

Commonly known as the "musician's curse word." Derived by jazz artist Charles Mingus. Whenever he did something idiotic in music, fellow musicians would say, "Damn Mingus!" And eventually, it became a "dingus."
A person who is occasionally a spazz in music.

"Dude this trill sounds awful because you all are in the wrong key."

"What! You dingus, that's an E flat and you keep playing E natural!"
