Example gAy

An occurrence--usually something that someone says or does--that perfectly exhibits their closeted homosexuality. A pun on 'Example A'.

Example 1: Person 1: Jerry is totally into Brad. I can just tell. Person 2: What? Jerry's straight. Person 1: Jerry is gay. Person 2: No he isn't! Person 1: Example gAy: He wore leopard-print skinny jeans yesterday. Example 2: I don't understand how Paul's mom still hasn't realized he likes guys. Example gAy: he teaches an 'Urban Tango' class at the learning center on Fridays.

Example Person

A term used to replace names to avoid misinterpretation of external humane involvement in explanation of terms. Often followed in suit by an appropriate number if multiple Example Persons are required

Example Person #1:I entered a definition into urban dictionary and used Example Person instead of a random name to be an example of a person who says pro-single sex marriage phrases to avoid arousing ire from those who may believe I am insulting a personal contact of mine. Example Person #2:Good idea, definitions and interpretations on urban dictionary can become truly ambiguous with the involvement of monikers.

canonical example

An example that follows a principle or rule, which can be in religion, math, music, science, etc., and refers to something reduced to its most basic form.

My professor explained that a gene can become an oncogene by a point mutation that causes the gene to always be turned on. He used Ras as a canonical example of this idea because one point mutation in the Ras gene can result in it being constitutively turned on and leading to cancer.
