NYU

New York University- A massively overrated school that everyone wants to go to. Most of these kids come from suburbs and don't know any other universities in NYC.

Rather than doing some research on other great schools in the area (i.e. Fordham University, Columbia University) they all want to go to NYU because they "love New York".

Also, they probably know nothing about NYC, and believe that Manhattan is NYC, completely forgetting that there are 4 OTHER BOROUGHS.

Dumbass: "omgz I'm gunna apply to NYU. I luv new yorx!!1!1"

well-read intellectual at Columbia: "oh nice...so how do you like the village?"

dumbass: "omgz i luv new yorx bcuz it's awsumz...wutz the village?" *Takes C train to Brooklyn*

nyu

A school for people who want to pay as much tuition as Columbia requires, but don't have the brains to get in.

NYU is New York City's second best school.

NYU

Where child actors go, besides the Ivies, because:

1) They can't hack it at any other school
2) Just want to say they went to college in NYC for 2-3 years
3) Did poor research on other universities

and/or

4) Just luv NYC and most likely have no clue that NYC consists of 5 boroughs.

NYU - Tisch is overrated for acting. You want to polish your craft? Go to Julliard. You want rigorous academics? Go to the University of Chicago or Washington University-St. Louis.

Access To NYU

To make fun of NYU international students(mainly Chinese) that speak cracked English. It was originally from a TikTok Video that a Chinese girl tried to ask her NYU guy friend about his relationship, which begins with"How many girls have you f**ked after access to NYU? " And this video went viral after several meme bloggers reposted it.

"Brah ma labogini is so fkin cool!"
"Access to NYU?"

NYU Tandon

NYU Tandon is the school of engineering and applied science at New York University and is one of the highly ranked engineering programs in the nation. It is the second oldest private school of engineering and technology in the United States. The school's main campus is in Brooklyn's MetroTech Center, an urban academic-industrial research park.

It is one of several engineering schools that were founded based on a European polytechnic university model in the 1800s, in response to the increasing industrialization of the United States. It has been a key center of research in the development of microwave, wireless, radar, electronics in general, polymers, industrial engineering and operations research and the US space program.

The school dates back to 1854 when its predecessor institutions, the University of the City of New York School of Civil Engineering and Architecture and the Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute, were founded. The school was renamed in 2015 in honor of NYU Trustees Chandrika and Ranjan Tandon following their donation of $100 million to the school.

Its past and present graduates and faculty include Nobel Prize winners, National Medals for Science, Technology and Innovation winners, astronauts, Russ Prize, IEEE Edison Medal, Turing Award, Gordon Prize and Draper Prize winners and over 100 of National Academy of Engineering members.

Guy 1: Which school do you attend?
Guy 2: NYU Tandon
Guy 1: It must be pretty tough right. So, do you wanna go for a movie this weekend?
Guy 2: No, I am extremely busy with assignments.

NYU Poly

The official slang name of The NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, recently changed to the NYU Tandon School of Engineering by some tyrants on the NYU board of trustees.
NYU Polytechnic, (nicknamed NYU Poly) was originally an all men's engineering school which later became the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, which then joined NYU to become NYU Polytechnic, then left NYU and kept the name NYU Poly. Then in 2014 NYU finally merged with New York University to become the New York NYU Polytechnic Institute. NYU Poly has grown to become one of the world's best engineering establishments, which continued to grow until the Tandon family gave $100 million to the school to rename it in their likeness. Most students and almost all staff still call the school, NYU Poly, or just Poly.

Person 1: Hey Person 2, what college do you go to now that you graduated?
Person 2: I go to NYU Poly!
Person 1: Oh yea, didn't they rename that school?
Person 2: *Sigh* yea, now its NYU Tandon :/

Person 1: Tandon? {Lol that sounds like NYU Tampon
Person2: Rofl You're right it definitely does. I liked NYU Poly a lot better.
