A mixture of the words "Avatar" and "retarded." An insult referring to something that is both stupid and nerdy or geeky.

Derived from James Cameron's science fiction film Avatar.

(Noun) Term for people who suffer from depression after watching the movie Avatar, claiming that the real world isn't as beautiful and vibrant as the fictional world of Pandora.

Jim wouldn't touch his dinner after seeing the movie, the drab colors on his food seemed unappealing compared to the beautiful palette on Pandora; Jim had become an Avatard.

A person who believes "Avatar" to be one of the best films of all time.
