A fork of Rural Dictionary
Something that unfortunately, a lot of teenagers lack due to society and life that puts restraints on children only allowing them to act a certain way. When people are forced into a mould they don't fit in, this will affect them negatively, especially in younger people as they are not used to the way you are treated in the world yet and have not been exposed to it yet/enough. Because teenagers often lack positivity, they can develop depression and other mental health disorders and illnesses, which are serious and can be very dangerous, and yet they are told to grow up. This furthers their misery. In addition, school can often cause sadness and other negative emotions and thoughts because of the (dare I say) abuse from other children and the adults that are responsible for providing us with education and supporting us, also known as teachers. These are only a few reasons. Positivity is a feeling of happy emotions, for example excitement or pride. It can affect the way you see the world, your mindset and your life and change it for the better.
Sad person 1: I feel sad Sad person 2: Same, I wish I had some positivity in my life
Positivity is staying positive even when you find a really good reason to be negative.
Thinking that being too stupid to create time travel is for the best because your dumb ass would probably use it to go back in time, pretend to be a Native American and teach the pilgrims how to rap shows positivity. This is bad - One of our founding fathers, Thomas "T-Dog" Jeffersizzle, wrote the lyrics to the Ryhmes of Independence.
(1.) The false idea that negative elements of life need to be edited or denied, for someone to be happy, successful, or even just okay. Instead of just accepting that life is full of everything: the wonderful, the terrible and everything in between. (2.) A toxic leftover from a multi-billion dollar self- help industry. (3.) The kind of willful ignorance and denial that inspired idioms such as, "Ostrich with its head in the sand" and "Elephant in the Room". A mental rationalization for ignoring or downplaying problems....instead of accurately assessing and fixing them. (4.) Malignant hope for people and situations that are never going to change. (5.) A favorite excuse/justification for those who emotionally police and manipulate others.
If you have to construct "positivity" out of the ether, and put it in places it clearly doesn't belong....it's probably bullshit. What's "positive" about lying to yourself?
The preferred option or outcome in any given situation.
Going to the movies and seeing World War Z instead of Man of Steel would definitely be Position A.
A device used by New Yorkers, who instinctively value opposition and contradiction, to underline their agreement with another person's statement. Instead of the conventional "Oh, I agree," or "Yes, you're right," the New Yorker begins with "No, I agree," or "No, you're right."
Xiomara: "Gray's Papaya makes a better hot dog than anyone can at home." Shlomo: (using the Positive No) "No, you're absolutely right."
