A person who is an enthusiast that enjoys and loves Techno and Electronica...and in many cases house music as well. Many Techies would listen to Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Dubstep, Justice, Uffie, Skrillex, Benni Benassi, Fitz (MabyIt'sFitz) and more in that genre. Many do enjoy the usual ULTRA Music Festival, Electric Daisy, Electric Zoo, and many other festivals and concerts. A lot of these people (Techies) are fun loving, awesome, kickass people that know how to have a good time and have good taste in accenting any headgear, Helmets or "Heads" of the Dj's/ composers.
Person #1: "Hey are you going to ULTRA Music Fest.?" Person #2: "No, I'm not a Techie, I hate that type of music." Person#1:.... "THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Techies are friggen awesome and the girls are hot dude." Person #2: .... *Listens to Dubstep and Deadmau5* "I am sorry for the Blastfamy that I have said..."
A computer technician. Usually has a bad attitude and not very cool. Likes to sit in an office for hours on end, not shower for weeks and be rude to all who come their path. Techy's also have contributed to the origin of the word dell.
Man1: "My computer's delled" Man 3: "Well go see the techy" Man 1: "No way. He's off his face"

1)A term used to refer to a person who is interested in technology almost to the point of obsession. 2)A person that is extremely knowledgeable about Information Technology. These individuals generally have built custom CPU towers that run a opensource OS from either a UNIX or Linux thread. As well as spend Much of there free time researching new Computer technologies. 3)Techie is a term that a "Computer Nerd" may use to refer to himself or other "Computer Nerds" but may not be used by others (Kind of like the equivalent to the N word for "Computer Nerds") It is derogatory for non Techies to refer to someone as a Techie. *Can also be spelled Techy ((however the "Teamsters" that work back stage at theaters are now using the term "Techie" (with the "ie" spelling) to try and dissociate them selves with the teamsters that work on film sets.)Not cool!!! real Techies/Techys have come up with pretty much every major advancement in the technological field for the last 40+years. without them you wouldn't have the computerized lighting and sound systems that you use todays. that would make your jobs a lot harder. So please respect the title)
