The word mur was origially used by bored north vancouver suburbanite kids to describe a grouch, a grinch, a woman on her period, or a woman about to get her period.

Example 1: Natty, Cat and Mike are in a group chat together and the conversation ended. But Natty wants to talk more. So she types “murmur” in the chat and waits till someone says it too or starts saying something.
Example 2: instead of waiting for someone to speak after saying it. Natty asks a question or starts talking about something.
Example 3: Cat is having an annoying day. So he calls one of his friends and says ugh I’m muring right now. Today’s been annoying.
Example 4: Cat’s day has been depressing and it’s made him quiet. But he wants to talk to his friends that are with him. So he smiles and says mur. Sometimes saying something random helps you feel motivated enough to talk.
Example 5: Mike just got something for Christmas that he’s been wanting. So he sends a picture of it to his best friend and says “I’ve wanted this for a long time. It’s big murs”
