Emos have been stereotypicalized as ppl that cut themselves. If u took a moment to actually see how these "emos" are feeling then maybe u would understand why they cut if they do. Some ppl might do it but this does not make them "emos". Music wise, "emos" are seen to only listen to heavy metal and stuff like that. Have u ever thought that maybe they just like this music?? No. Because of all stereotypes that have been made, ppl that like this music immediately fall into the "emo" category. These "emos" just dress like they do because they maybe want to stick out and not go with the crowd. This is perfectly fine to understand if u could be open minded but u r just so closed off in your little fantasy label-ridden world that u cant take a chance to think of these reasons. So in future before u class anyone as an "emo" because they cut and/or like heavy music n wear dark clothes, at least get ur facts straight. If someone classes themselves as an "emo" then its obviously because they are sick of being talked about and labelled that they have chosen to believe this as truth. At least have a bit of thought about these "emos" because theyre still ppl with feelings n stuff so at least have a thought about how u could be affecting them. Some ppl go through a lot of shit in their lives and need ways to get it out. Dont judge them on how they do this, just go with it n try n actually help them.
Q:Oh he's such an emo V:Naah.Maybe he's got some shit going on Q:As if mann. Thatll be his excuse. If u look at his arms i bet theyll be cut V:Gee mann. You shouldnt just judge ppl on idiotic stereotypes Q:Whatever dude
Invariable self-description of any emo band.
Singer of xXTragicHeartfallXx: "We're not emo."
"They aren't punk, they're emo. Punk is Ramones, Social Distortion and Rancid. If you think MCR is punk, you don't know what punk is." Emo is punk rock music. There are many sub-Genres In punk rock music. "Emo is a subgenre of hardcore punk music. " Wikipedia "Early Emo's Influence In California, particularly in the Bay Area, bands like Jawbreaker and Samiam began to mix the DC influence with pop punk to come up with their own take on the classic DC emo sound. On Jawbreaker's album Bivouac, singer Blake Schwarzenbach evolved from the traditional hardcore vocal sound into a more melodic crooning, which displayed a more emotional feeling of loss than the desperation and frantic nature of MacKaye's voice. Other bands soon reflected the same sense of rough melody, including Still Life and New Jersey's Garden Variety. The style continued to evolve into the 2000s through bands like Avail and Hot Water Music. Also in the early 90s, bands like Lifetime reacted in their own way to the demise of youth crew styled straight-edge hardcore and desired to seek out a new direction. While their music was often classified as emo, it was also considered to be melodic hardcore. In response to the more metal direction their hardcore peers were taking, Lifetime initially decided to slow down and soften their music, adding more personal lyrics. The band later added a blend of speed, aggression, and melody that defined their sound. Lifetime's sound, lyrics, and style were a virtual blueprint for later bands, including Saves The Day and The Movielife." "The Second Wave (1994–2000) As Fugazi and the Dischord Records scene became more and more popular in the indie underground of the early 1990s, new bands began to spring up. Once apon a time the term 'emo' was actually used in context. Meaning a genre of music, linked to underground bands and sometimes known as a sub-genre of punk, rock or screamo. Now the word 'emo' is often used as a stereoype, which is insulting to one if not self proclaimed. Emo is now also seen as someone who is 'depressed' or self mutilates themselves, or someone who wears black. When infact they are just a normal person who dresses differently, doesn't like the whole gangta scene, and would rather listen to worth while bands than listening to 50cent all day round.
1. REAL menaing- "I saw this band playing emo last night, at that underground rave". 2. stupid person insulting someone they call 'emo': "God, your so emo." apparent 'emo': Why? stupid person: Coz, you listen to MCR, HIM, and Hawthorne Hieghts, not to mention your wear too much black and are individual". Apparent emo (indivdual kewl person): "Whatever, I'm going to go have a life."
An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality. The concept of Emo is actually a vicious cycle that never ends, to the utter failing of humanity, and it goes something like this: 1. Girls say they like "sensitive guys" (lie) 2. Guy finds out, so he listens to faggy emo music and dresses like a dork so chicks will see that he is sensitive and not afraid to express himself (lie). He dyes his hair black, wraps himself in a stupid looking scarf, develops an eating disorder, and rants about how "nobody understands". 3. Now an emo guy, he meets Emo chick and they start dating, talking about how their well-off suburban lifestyles are terrible and depressing (lie) 4. Emo guy is just too much of a pussy. His penis is too small, he's too depressed to bathe, and has more mood swings than emo chick, and he doesn't even have a menstrual cycle. Emo chick dumps him, saying "It's not you, it's me." (lie) as she drives off with Wayne, the school jock and captain of the football team. 5. Emo guy goes home and cries, proceeds to write a weak song and strum a single string on his acoustic guitar. Another emo chick sees how he is so in touch with his feelings, and the cycle continues. This is the sad truth of the emo lifestyle/music, and now that I look at how pathetic it really is, maybe the emos DO have something to cry about!
When she sees how sensitive and emo I have become, she'll definately go out with me!
