Tom Waits

1. A hobo whimsy best expressed by a musical and lyrical genius that is legendary and rich with sly legerdemain. A Gypsy talent. 2. A national treasure usually found roughing it among vagrant campfires, eating baked beans, singing verses of box cars and Martha, playing harmonica that is kept in his coat's breast pocket on cold nights. 3. A dancing set of bones--such as the Elephant Man--summoned up from the dead to take the listener on an eerie ride, i.e. the Gospel Train on Halloween.

"Tom Waits for no man. But I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy." --Nick Cave to Henry Mancini

But wait, there's more!

The cliche phrase uttered during every infomercial that doubles and sometimes triples the amount of stuff you get if you buy the product. Because everyone needs 128 sticks of mighty putty!

Informercial: Call now for your new space saving vacuum bags. But wait, there's more! Call in the next 5 minutes and we will double your order. That is 2 sets of bags for the price of one! Call now. Consumer: Wow! What a deal. I have to order those.

Stall Waiting

When you realize that you and your neighbor have finished using the bathroom at the same time so you delay exiting the stall a few seconds to avoid any uncomfortable eye contact or "excuse me"s while leaving the stall. Wait period is usually until the person reaches the buffer zone of the sink, where all normal social etiquettes are re-activated.

"Hmm...Bob and I just flushed at the same time. I better wait a few seconds so I don't run into him."

Wait a tick

Another way of saying "Wait a minute" or "Wait a second", etc.

Wait a tick, if what you're saying is true... I still don't care!

Waiting on Opie

a customary waiting period in anticipation of your marijuana to be delivered while wondering why Opie was delayed (usually accompanied by anger, annoyance, excitement, and impatience). This conduct was something his friends were accustomed to and wish they could wait for him once again.

Jason and I laughed at Chad because he was stuck at home waiting on Opie and missed out on all the fun.
