A way to explain that you are going to do the action that someone has challanged you too.
Or
Someone has said something to you in a challenging way so now you have to respond with something so you say bet.
Boy 1: your not jumping off that cliff
Boy 2; big bets I'll do it right now
Boy 1: you won't
Boy 2: * jumps off cliff and falls to his ultimate death*
Or
Girl 1: im gonna tell Ethan you like him
Girl 2: bet I'm gonna tell Erick you like him
Short for "I bet." Used as a form of verbal irony, the word is said when someone could in place say also sarcastically; "oh yeah sure, I bet"
"I could totally outrun Usain Bolt"
"Lol dude bet"
Most people get this wrong so let me make this clear. The term 'bet' (informal) is used when somebody doesn't believe you in any circumstance, or used as a reply by a person when someone doesn't believe in them.
Male 1: Nigga bet I can I can jump over that car.
Male 2: Bet! (Almost in a confused tone.)
An acception of an invitation, also meaning Yes. A sign of approval. Most do not use it sparingly, but add it to spice up sentences. Not referring to, "making a bet."
Person 1: Hey homie, whats good in the hood?
Person 2: Betttttt, nothing much.
Person 1: She is a hottie,
Person 2: Bet, Bet, Bet, Bet, Betttttt.
