A response to a question when you don't really want to be the one to make the decision. Named after the books where you literally "choose your own adventure."
Person 1: Should we go to the mall and buy $75 sweaters, or help the homeless? Person 2: I don't know. Choose your own adventure.
In message boards: These are normally topics that an author creates a main storyline, and have the other people periodically choose what action will follow next (usually at a critical point in the story). If done well, they can be one of the most enjoyable topics on a board.

Expression used by Ash when choosing to use his favorite pokemon, pikachu, in a battle. Although usually one addresses the pokemon first, this phrase has been adapted in modern culture.

Noun. When you find a concept that a person who is brilliant wrote, that you don't understand. You open the wikipedia article about that concept, and open tabs in your browser for all of the links in that wikipedia article that you also don't understand. Eventually, you have 25 tabs open and you hit the terminal point where you understand, then you work your way backwards through the other 24 tabs until you understand it all. Choose your own adventure books were books that had many possible endings depending on the pages you chose. They were entertainment circa 1985.
