ay-up

A greeting used by Northerners and in parts of the Northern Midlands in the United Kingdom, for example Yorkshire, Lancashire, Nottingham and so on. It is another way to say hello and comes with an accent, which is very typically Northern.

Dave: Ay-up Michael, han't seen you round ere' in a while Michael: Aye!
