To deficate on a persons head while they are in a body of water.

Jon passed out and spilled beer in the hot tub, so he was buried at sea for his mistake.

An attempt to close down a contentious matter by taking unilateral action. Usually has the opposite effect and spawns a thousand conspiracy theories
