A phrase of obvious sarcasm, used in message boards and the like, to point out that a previous post was not funny even though the creator of the unfunny post thought it was. See also: STFU, GTFO, gb2/

Poster 1: Hay guys I just insulted some kid in an online forum! HAHAHAHAHA Poster 2: I see what you did there.

Usually a sarcastic response to somebody who obviously thinks that they have been more clever than they actually have. Seen mostly in online forums; often abbreviated ISWYDT.

Person1: Microsoft makes a decent word processor. Person2: Micro$oft Word sux!! Person3: I see what you did there.

Sometimes used as a sarcastic response to a dumb trick. Or a trick meant for noobs.

-Guy1: Hey guys! If you post your credit card and social security number, this forum will out automatically censor it! -Guy2: Okay... Wait! I see what you did there.

A common turn of phrase on the internet, generally used as an expression of quiet, subdued admiration for one's wit. Especially appropriate after a particularly deft pun.

Person 1: You hear about that guy who stole all the plumbing fixtures from that house? He even took all the toilets. The police have nothing to go on. Person 2: Heh. I see what you did there.
