When you “Lock Up”, you remain calm in conflicting situations or you conceal your true intentions so as to avoid embarrassment, awkwardness and the likes. This is a Nigerian (Warri) slang.

#1. She was giving me an attitude so I locked up. #2. As some guys enter the area dey looseguard I just lock up.

Locked up is when you are imprisoned in jail, or in a place where you can not get out.
