Union Suit - one-piece long underwear, Usually red in color but others are available such as navy blue,white,black, Green,pink,Ivory or gray . Created in Utica, New York circa 1860s Usually made from wool or flannel , cotton And polyester blend in current times. It is called the union suit Because the top and bottom were united as a one-piece A unification of long sleeve and pant legs underwear Ment to be worn in cold weather for long weeks at a time.
