hanging out to dry

To make an appointment or plans with someone and then at the last minute make excuses or plans with someone else or blow them off.

Ms. Levesque called me and were set to meet this weekend. But I got another call just today and now she is not feeling well after partying all night. That bitch left me hanging out to dry again!
