mopped up

"someone who is the unfortunate / fortunate recipient of a right good twating (beating up. Usually it occurs as a result of upsetting one or a number of "casuals", whilst trawling the streets and bars of stoke-on-trent and newcastle." Reasons for being mopped include: 1. The casual has had too much to drink 2. The casual has had too much coke 3. The casual hasnt had a fight for more than 2 weeks 4. All of the above 5. The casual had a drink spilt on him 6. The casual was being stared at from across the bar 7. The mopped person was trying it on with a casuals bird 8. The casual was disrespected in any shape or form Those who have been mopped are usually refered to as "dumb-fuckers" and/or "remeber that dickhead i/we mopped"!!!

A youth decides that in-order to prove his manliness to his fellow mates, decides to take on the challenge of a significant group of casuals. The end result being as swift run up to A@E for him, and the embarasement of not even putting up a decent fight.This is how people get mopped up. BE WARNED, CASUALS SHOULD ONLY BE APPROACHED BY FEMALES LOOKING FOR A GOOD TIME.

mopping up

The process of completely cleaning up one's plate or bowl with bread after finishing a meal. Commonly associated with a Northern English roast dinner sopping in gravy, typically leaving a soup-like substance comprising of all elements of the roast. Processes involve breaking parts off to wipe the plate, or immersing a whole slice in the pond of gravy to soak up before finishing it off with a knife a fork. One for the posh kids.

'Ere mum give me that plate - I'll do the mopping up, you have a lie down.

to redefine the features of someones face by brute physical force from one's fist. Also can be used in place of "beating the shit out of", "demolishing", "kicking ass", etc.

Present tense: I am going to mop up on any naysayers who oppose the crooked design of my concept car. Past tense: The naysayers were mopped up on when they called out the marginal concept design.
