Used to describe a situation that is disheartening or distressing or unfortunate.

- Unfortunately your house has caught fire and it was a total loss.

-Oh, sad bear.

Sad Bears

A sympathetic response to someone else's unfortunate, but unsurprising, experience (particularly at UC Berkeley).

Originally coined by the University of California Marching Band.

"Damn. I forgot to submit my selfgrade for EE16A again."

"Aww, Sad Bears. Did you see the score? It looks like Cal lost Big Game again"
