Smack in the chops

A punch to the face, for the purpose of getting someone to wake up to themselves. Can be a back-hander, or an open-handed slap also. As long as it gets the message across.

That bloke is right up himself! Someone ought to give him a good smack in the chops, and tell him to pull his head in.
