What have you come as is what people in the U.K. ask their friends when they do something peculiar,act off, or anything else pertaining to an attitude or behavior.
*friend walks in wearing a bum bag, stilettoes, and ear muffs* "Oh, Lord! What have you come as?"
"What have you been up to today?" is a question that asks what you have done all day, like work or leisure activities, in the past tense.
Q: "What have you been up to today?" A: "I was at work until 5:00pm, and then I went to the store to pick up some milk."
Asking what a mate has been smokin' cause of them acting strangely, jokingly mocking them of being stoned by drugs.
Person 1: Hey, bro! Did ya see bob the builder this morning? It's totally the shizzle. Person 2: What have you been smokin' man?
Used to express astonishment when somebody says or does something completely out of character. The only possible explanation is that they've been replaced by an alien shape-shifter who looks exactly like them, but acts differently. The phrase is a parody of the cliché found in old movies, when somebody returns home to find their lover gone and a stranger in their place.
