blastfromthepast

A show involving bright lights, a dark stage, mics that don't make anything loud unless you're backstage, cursing with your headset accidentally on. It is custom-made costumes that are 9 sizes to big or 4 sizes too small, it is the reason why we stay at school until 9 on a weeknight. It is dancing, it is singing, it is working hard for 2 months just to walk out of the dressing rooms and get a flower from the guy who swore he'd never be caught dead in that auditorium. It is showing the assholes that a freshman can get a solo and be better than half the seniors. It is that place we go to to whine about having to stay and cry when at the final end, it's time to go. A place where even the most perverted geniuses are forever respected. In the end though, "Y'all suck."

"Blast from the Past is the only thing that could make me wear purple spandex."

sell out

Someone who tries at something, fails misserably, and lets into pop culture so they can have more money.

Bowling for Soup is the biggest sell out. They used to be alternative but things didn't go so great so they decided to be on pop stations, so now they do more things for pop stations than for alternative just because of the money. Fuck sellouts

darkside

That place you know, in Toronto where all the stoners go to uhh... oh yeah get stoned, and then... and then they get high, er yeahh stoned at darkside, its umm, stonerish... and you get stoned! Did I mention that this is a place where you wait in line to go in and there are people getting high all around you and you can get lots of free weed! You think I'm joking, and if you choose not to believe me that's fine, I only know half of what I say, I knwo this entire thing is true! (well if i say the entire thing is true that only means half of half of what I am saing)

Chick 1: OMG we went to darkside last weekend! Chick 2: How was it? Chick 1: Well uhh... I don't really remember... BECAUSE I WAS SO HIGH! Chick 2: Really? chick1: Did I mention I touched the sky?

SAT

Stands for Scholastic Assessment Test. This test is required by most colleges, though some will accept the ACT instead. The SAT has come under much controversy, especially because so much weight is put on how well a student does on a single test. Many opponents of the exam have said that many students are creative, but cannot perform well on standardized tests. Also, it is now popularly believed that wealthy students can "buy" their SAT score. Many hire the best programs and tutors that money can afford to get high scores. As a result, there is a notable difference between races and social classes in their SAT scores. However, the SAT was revised as of 2005. Previously, the Math and Verbal SAT were on a scale of 800 (the scale starts at 200) separately, people often stated their score out of 1600, adding together both scores. The new SAT has many changes. Firstly, it has three catagories: Math, Critical Reading, and Writing, and therefore ones' total score would be out of 2400 rather than 1600. Also, the infamous analogies, a section that was particularly dreaded by high school juniors and seniors, have been removed. Finally, components of the SAT II: Writing have been combined, including the 25 minute essay. This section has been criticized as well, especially because only two graders read it once (Each grades on a scale of 0-6, and those two numbers are added together). The SAT is resented by many students and in recent years the ACT has become more popular, because of its more straight-forward testing approach. However, at the moment the SAT is still needed to apply to many colleges.

The SAT is a test that many people feel to be an unfair way to judge the worth of a student.
