A rare graphic technique used by cnn, Fox News and other television news outlets to simultaneously display eight talking heads in two rows of four heads each. The term was first made popular by Comedy Central's Daily Show. The octobox can only be trumped by the increasingly rare nonobox and decabox
CNN had 8 financial experts talking at the same time so they had to break out the octobox.
The decabox is the ultimate in television news graphics technology. It involves any assortment of 10 experts simultaneously displayed on the screen. Each talking head is made so small as to render the speaker unrecognizable on any television smaller than 61 inches.
Fox News had 10 political analysts talking at the same time, so they had to resort to using the fabled decabox. Their heads were so small that you couldn't tell who they were.
RAGBRAI is an acronym for the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. It is an annual week-long bicycle ride from West to East across the state of Iowa held during the last week of July. The ride is unique in that the route and host cities change each year. There are approximately 10,000 official participants with up to 10,000 additional cyclists joining the ride on any given day. Each town the route passes through hosts a large party with a state fair atmosphere.
Cyclist #1: Dude, are you doing RAGBRAI this year?
Cyclist #2: Heck yeah! I wouldn't miss a 7-day-long party on wheels.
