Bacchuitis is a common ailment resulting from excessive consumption of ethanol. The word is of mixed derivation, combining 'Bacchus', Roman god of wine and intoxication, and 'itis', Greek suffix for inflammation. Symptoms vary widely, but usually include the sensation of a swollen, hyper-sensitive cranium.
