Bacchuitus

Bacchuitis is a common ailment resulting from excessive consumption of ethanol. The word is of mixed derivation, combining 'Bacchus', Roman god of wine and intoxication, and 'itis', Greek suffix for inflammation. Symptoms vary widely, but usually include the sensation of a swollen, hyper-sensitive cranium.

On the phone to work: I won't be in today - the doctor said I have Bacchuitis.

They say it's not contagious, but I caught a bad case of Bacchuitus last night.

clutter day

Clutter Day is a Secular Holiday with spiritual overtones. On Clutter Day, one disposes of combustible material which has emotional significance, but no further practical use. It is the respectful way of ridding oneself of Clutter. Ideally, friends gather in a quiet natural space and burn their Clutter together.

As soon as I finish this UD definition, I will invite my friends to a Clutter Day in the (South Jersey) pines.

Tom Hall

A 'Tom Hall' is a dismissive comment on a cultural or personal phenomenon which reflects a limited understanding of, or concern for, the culture or the person. One delivers a Tom Hall pontifically, with unquestionable righteousness.

Ever watched 'American Pickers'? Oh, you mean 'American Nose Pickers?'

'Me? lecture a drunkard? I'm not stupid'.

My siblings, and many others, have experienced a 'Tom Hall'.
