The term used to describe the calculated legal maneuver of preemptively sending a misbehaving celebrity to rehab in an effort to avoid jail time.
“The famed celebrity defense attorney, representing the latest lifestyle victim of not-so-young-anymore Hollywood, has proactively checked his client into a nearby rehab facility hoping to sway the judge’s upcoming ruling away from time in jail—a tactic known in legal circles as a “pleahab” deal.”
An expression used to describe a person who will stop at nothing in an attempt to become or remain famous, even if that means humiliating themselves, betraying their friends, endangering their children, disgracing humanity, etc.
Recent examples of fame-seeking missiles have sold the story of their affairs with married celebrities, released sex tapes, photos, voicemails, and sexts, posed naked, posed semi-naked with Kermit the frog, pretended to launch their kid in a balloon, had 10 cosmetic surgeries in one day, compromised national security at a state dinner, wrote a tell-all, had a litter of kids, checked into rehab, PRehab, or mehab, quit her job as governor, took a punch in the face on camera, had the last name Lohan, and, of course, agreed to be filmed for a reality show.
The term used to describe a "celebrity" who is famous primarily for bad behavior (due to either being completely devoid of talent or having their work overshadowed by their antics).
Tiger Woods co-cheater Rachel Uchitel seems to be doing everything humanly possible to prolong her celebritney status. (Look for her upcoming cover single "Me and Bombshell McGee" to drop any day now.)
Another term used to describe the calculated and cynical attempt to control the public perception of a misbehaving celebrity by gratuitously sending them to rehab for the PR value alone. (synonymous with rephab)

The term used to describe the creation of an increasingly marginal yet conveniently accessible level of "celebrity"—characterized by those whose actions make them a regular tabloid/paparazzi target, thus diverting unwanted attention away from legitimate celebrities and allowing them to lead relatively normal lives.
Celebrities living in hot-spots such as Hollywood must be thrilled by the low-hanging-fruit phenomenon of celebstitution, which keeps the paparazzi chasing reality "stars" while they run errands and drive their kids to school in peace. (Perhaps they should even consider starting a celebstitute fund to ensure that this seemingly bottomless supply of willing distractions is kept spray-tanned and Ed-Hardied to their hearts' content.)
The term used to describe the increasingly trendy self-promotional gimmick of checking into rehab in a desperate bid to gain or regain fame.
It seems that more and more people are becoming famous for bad behavior these days. Release a sex tape, sleep with a married celebrity, check yourself into mehab, and… boom! Just like that you have your own show.
