getting rose-gardened

An expression describing the experience of being killed by someone who is so arrogantly confident that they can get away with it that they bury you in plain sight.

He seems like a nice enough guy, but she'd better check him out first to make sure she's not going to wind up getting rose-gardened.

celebstitute

The term used to describe a marginal "celebrity" whose actions make them a regular tabloid/paparazzi target, thus diverting unwanted attention away from legitimate celebrities and allowing them to lead relatively normal lives.

Celebrities living in hot-spots such as Hollywood must be thrilled by the low-hanging-fruit phenomenon of "celebstitution", which keeps the paparazzi chasing reality "stars" while they run errands and drive their kids to school in peace. (Perhaps they should even start a celebstitute fund to ensure that this seemingly bottomless supply of willing distractions is kept spray-tanned and Ed-Hardied to their hearts' content.)

reputation rehab

The expression used to describe the calculated and cynical attempt to control the public perception of a misbehaving celebrity by gratuitously sending them to a rehab center for the PR value alone. (aka “rephab”)

“(insert celeb) just got caught cheating/drunk driving/making un-PC statements… better get them into reputation rehab!” Tiger Woods, Lindsay Lohan, Jesse James, Charlie Sheen, Britney Spears

salebrity

The term used to describe a discount "celebrity" who is easily accessible and routinely willing to demean themselves for a nominal fee.

It is an accepted misnomer within the television industry that the casts of shows beginning with the term "Celebrity" are in fact primarily comprised of salebrities (as producers know that “Salebrity Rehab”, while accurate, would undoubtedly taint the high standard of quality and respectability viewers have come to expect).
