Crotchety

Crotchety: (1) Expressing opinion with exaggerated opposition.

(2) May be accompanied by airs of senior entitlement.

(3) Use of grumpy deflection when the target of conversation is directed at them.

My father complains a lot about anything that crosses his mind, he's a crotchety old man!

When I'm tired and hungry, I get a little crotchety.

"I don't need to get my hearing checked, you need to stop mumbling." Geeze, dad! Don't be so crotchety!
