A person of African ancestry or descent who resides, or has resided, for a length of time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. An implication of a hard life, or coming up in the struggle in one or both places is implied.

Term coined by Roots MC 'Black Thought' during a segment on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'.

"Things might be difficult, but I'm an Afro-Philadelphian. I'll survive it."
