A woobie is a person who puts there hoodie over their knees and tightens there hoodie strings then runs around in a pack of other woobie. A pack of woobie is called a wooble. There is also a leader woobie called the woobobie.
Person 1: is that a woobie?
Person 2: no! That’s a whole wooble!
Person 1: run for your life!!!
Wooble: SCREEEEEEAAAAAACCCHHHH.
(noun) Security blanket, teddy bear, or any physical item (for children) or emotional feeling (for adults) that gives you that safe, fuzzy, warm aura.
Little Billy is just so Goddamn cranky without his wooby.

in the united states military, classified as LINER, WET WEATHER, PONCHO, the Woobie was introduced first during Vietnam as the inner liner for the poncho, where the poncho could keep troops dry, and the liner could keep out the cold. It became such a hit though, that somehow it came to be called the Woobie out of endearment.
Maybe named for the mashup of the words "would be", maybe named for the safety blanket in the movie Mr. Mom (the young boy calls his blanket Woobie), the world may never know.....
"Don't forget your poncho liner, you Woobie (would be) cold without it."
