The difference between this and just becoming “a fan” is the level of commitment. This distinction includes one or more of the following: Trying to slide into DMs Ongoing engagement in chats, comments, or fan boards Creating or consuming fan fiction or sub-Reddit’s. Buying merchandise or other fan paraphernalia. Monetarily supporting with a subscription or donation. Continually sharing updated information with friends or family (who don’t care).
