Tramp

A man or woman who has not got a home or a place to leave, thus lives on the street.

Tramps smell revolting and have poor hygiene because they cant afford to wash.

Guy 1. "Hey, you remember jack lonergan from school? hes totally a tramp now?"

Guy 2. "Man, i saw him last week. he stank of shit."

tramping

In New Zealand, overnight hiking is called tramping. Trampers carry all their gear with them and tramp either to huts (there is an extensive system in the NZ backcountry) or tent camp. Tramping can be a verb as well as an activity as in "I'm all tramped out" at the end of a long day.

We spent the weekend tramping up in Nelson Lakes National Park.
