A phrase used in response to a question, where the answer is an obvious yes.
Q:You wanna go out drinking tonight?
A: Does a bear shit in the woods?
Phrase employed to sarcastically imply that the answer to the question being posed is indubitably 'yes'.

To tell someone where the bear shit in the buckwheat means to explain something to them that they are very likely to know already, especially because it is self-evident.

A saying for of course, what else?, obversely. The same as "is the pope catholic?".
