A fork of Rural Dictionary
Footage of a celebrity taken by a fan. Most likely to be of low quality.
A: hahahaha I like to watch fancams on Youtube xD
B: but they're always so shaky and low def!!!
Fancams are when a fan goes around stalking celebrities with cameras and film everything they do. Most likely to be bad quality but some really good fancams might come in HD.
Fan 1: OMG! DID YOU SEE THAT GROUP MEMBER DO THAT?!
Fan 2: TOTALLY! IT WAS SO AMAZING! I NEED MORE FANCAMS! I CANT. MY FEELS.
fancams are videos that follow a celebrity around on stage while they’re performing. originally, these were fan-taken videos but now include any performance where one celebrity is followed around on stage, usually from one camera & camera angles don’t change.
fancams are primarily used on twitter, and are popular mostly on kpop stan twitter. people use the reply function and add a fancam to the reply. the purpose of using the fancam varies, between wanting views, hoping of gaining fans or annoying people.
fancams are different from fan edits, which is a compilation of videos created by a fan, sometimes including translations and filters, with background music.
(a fancam with a filter or different audio from the original is still a fancam, as long as it is one performance following a celebrity around with no change in camera angles)
omg a hit tweet! stream my fancam
