An answer to the rhetorical "how's it going?". Usually given when someone at work asks how you are and it is quite obvious that you have a crappy job and are just as broke as the next person. Most often used by cab drivers when business is slow.
Dean: Hey Greg, how's it going? Greg: Living the dream, brother, living the dream. taxi Greg how are you job life
The state of believing that your life is at the pinnacle of everything you could possibly want despite the presence of onlookers hating on you. Could also refer to an action where you are 'living the dream' such as replicating something that you recently saw and admired on an episode of Come Dine With Me. Or the process of doing something that you are so happily immersed in that all the other crap in your life seems to disappear.

1.living the dream is a term used by many Arwing Marines sarcastically refering to how there day is going or how there life is at that point in time.
Marine 1: how are you doing? Marine 2: im living the dream.

Often used ironically, often when one person hates their life and would just like to kill themselves rather than live another day of their shitty lives.

A sarcastic phrase used to describe the pure boredom and bullshit associated with deployments. People who are screwed into being fobbits with combat arms MOS's are usually the first ones to throw this gem at some one who makes the mistake of either asking, "What's going on?" or "How are you doing?".
