make no mistake

a weasel-y, thought-terminating phrase that is supposed to lend gravitas to a weak position in an argument. Used by doomsayers and the overly dramatic.

"Make no mistake, if you are not home by 11, you'll be grounded for a week!" (in a hissed whisper) "Mom, you drama queen, you're embarrassing me in front of Brandon."
