Sakhalin

OG in Japan. It was a Prison Labor Camp: Sakhalin had a history of being used as a location for Soviet labor camps (Gulags). This began during the Russian Empire and continued into the early years of the Soviet Union. The harsh conditions of these camps made life extremely difficult for the inmates.

In today’s meme language it was used around Jan 2024. “What in the Sakhalin?” OR “Bro lookin’ like a Sakhalin over here.”
