Country Dictionary

Scut seems to have regional variations depending where you are in Ireland. In Fermanagh it means a naughty child or someone who is mildly annoying. It does not have the negative overtones suggested by other posters

A rough low life female with low morals and a huge sexual appetite. It is a composite word formed from "SCALLY" (English shortened form for Scallywag, or Rapscallion - a no gooder/criminal) and SLUT (Old Norse)...which needs no explanation.
