A type of musical instrument which produces sound by sending a gas (either steam or, more recently, compressed air) through large whistles. 3. Title of a story in Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels, in which the Greek muse Calliope is featured - although here she is misidentified as the youngest muse.

Calliope is a beautiful, kind and smart girl. She's the life of the party and has the prettiest smile in the world. Her features are one of a kind and her personality is so amazing, that everyone can't help but love her. She's selfless, brave and a great friend, but can be a little stubborn and reckless at times. Even though she has flaws, everyone loves her for who she is.
